if you're new

If you are coming to St. Matthias' for the first time, we are delighted that you are here. You may have some questions. Everybody you see here was a newcomer at one time, and we've all had questions – maybe the same ones. So don't hesitate to ask a question. If you need help, ask anyone here, and we will be happy to assist you. We want you to be comfortable so you can enjoy your visit, and we hope you will come back.

So… make yourself comfortable. When you are worshiping God, you can't get it wrong, and regardless of what anybody else is doing, don’t feel you have to do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable during the service.

“ St. Matthias’ has always welcomed everyone. We read it in our mission statement ' Whoever you are, wherever you find yourself on the journey of faith, we welcome you to St. Matthias’ Church.' We sing it in our hymns 'All Are Welcome' and 'Draw the Circle Wide' and we demonstrate it every time we gather as a church family.”

where is St. Matthias'?

The red marker is our church, located in downtown Minocqua at 403 E. Chicago Ave. (corner of Chippewa and Chicago). Chippewa St. is also Hwy. 51 northbound, if that helps. If you're heading north on 51, we're the stone church on the right side after the roads splits. Turn right on Chicago Ave. and park behind the church or in the public lot just to the north. [contact us]

I've got questions...

  • What can I expect on a Sunday?
  • What is Evensong?
  • Where can I park?
  • What do I wear?
  • Is there something for children during the service?
  • Are you accessible to people with disabilities?
  • How can I join the church?
