Whoever you are, wherever you find yourself on the journey of faith, we welcome you to St. Matthias Church. This is God's house and so it is your house because you are God's child. We hope that you will be at home here and find peace here.
This year St. Matthias is celebrating our 50th anniversary of being an Episcopal presence in the Minocqua community. Check out our history page to learn more about us.
St. Matthias acknowledges that we are standing on the ancestral lands of the Lake Superior Chippewa Indians, who have been stewards of this land for centuries and respect the interconnected relationships among everything on this land. We acknowledge the many legacies of violence, boarding schools, displacement, migration, and settlement that bring us together today. We pay respect to their elders, past, present, and future.
Christmas at St. Matthias
You are invited to celebrate with us and experience the comfort and joy of Christ’s birth.
Christmas Eve service 5:00 pm. A traditional service with hymns, sermon Holy Communion and special prayers that reflect the glory of God.
Christmas Day service 10:00 am. A quiet, peaceful service with a special sermon, hymns, and prayers that brings us closer to the mystery of God becoming flesh and dwelling with us.
Sunday, December 31 Lessons and Carols 10:00 am. In the Church Year Christmas is such an important celebration we can’t keep it contained in one day so we celebrate it for twelve days. On the 7th Day of Christmas, we will have a special service featuring readings and music that reflect the joy of the season.
All are welcome to join us for these festive services.
