St. Matthias' Episcopal Church

The Episcopal Church Welcomes You.
We are grateful you have found St. Matthias, Minocqua’s website and hope it serves as a helpful introduction to our church and spiritual resources in all our seasons.

The Episcopal Church observes a seasonal calendar that revolves around the life, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus. Currently, we are in the season of Lent, a time of preparation for the Easter celebrations of Jesus’ resurrection.

Lent is a season of deep reflection that invites contemplation, quiet, and gentleness. “Not every season invites progress. Some seasons invite us to relinquish what we no longer need to hold tightly to.” Lent is such a season, whose invitation to let go is how we can discover letting go is the beginning of faith, and the deepening of faith.

Here at St. Matthias Minocqua, you are invited to be part of the season of Lent every Sunday at 10 am for our worship service.

In addition, you can read along with our Lent Devotional Cultivating Healing and Wholeness in Heart, Mind, Soul and Strength from Living Compass, available for free at our church or at livingcompass.org.

Tuesdays in Lent at 3:00 pm on Zoom you are invited to join our discussion group facilitated by Mother Deborah of St. Matthias Minocqua and Mother Meredyth of St. Augustine’s Rhinelander. Contact the church office or Mother Deborah to receive the zoom link.

Wherever you are on your spiritual journey, we are grateful you are here in this moment. If you have any questions, or wish to talk to our priest, the Rev. Deborah Woolsey, please contact the church office or Mother Deborah.
